Sorry if I've ruffled some feathers but I am just calling it as it is. Justin clearly claims the car is a convertible started by the Tucker Corporation
at the plant. THIS IS NOT TRUE and has been shown by many on this board as false. He knows this but continues to state it as fact. There is no
proof the car was ever at Lencki so how can we blame them? Sure he probably got a story from Reinhart but it is up to him to check it out. The
workmanship looks great on the car and it is an interesting vehicle. Too bad he won't tell the truth about it's history or is he afraid the value will
go way down. If so, well.....

Oh, I see, well the frame had other metal welded over it and tubes added inside after by previous owner to make it stronger for a convertible.

shure he knows but the value would go way down as you said. It is a convertible and it is true but it is not from the factory but something made by the previous owner(s). Like the 1052 was also sold with the story of a convertible and said they had original factory blueprints to make it with the parts lot of 1052 and 1018. Both car parts lots came with the same story.

frame 1018 also came with the same story when they sold it that they could make the convertible but I believe Esch was never able to put it together.

Check who is the only given credit to on this add!!

Just wondering if someone could post the article in Tucker Topics from June/July 1994 that talks about #1057 being a convertible. Justin Cole keeps
refering to it as proof that #1057 is a convertible that was started at the Tucker plant. I'd love to read the article if anyone could post it.

June 1994 Tucker Topics

Postby TuckerCar » Mon May 11, 2009 8:29 pm

Here is the notorious June 1994 issue of Tucker Topics. If this is what is considered provenance on a $5 million car, then I have a couple $5 million cars for sale myself.

See paragraph 3. Brent merely makes a passing mention of photos that Reinert brought with him.

I see it don't show nothing saying it is a factory convertible. Also his friend Esch is in the group again.

Hi, I also have a $5,000,000 cookie jar for sale which is very rare of the convertible if anyone would like to buy it. This one is convertible!" (no lid)

It seems like the more we look at the "proof" that the car is a "convertible" built at the Tucker plant, the more it seems their story is as fabricated
as the car they are building.

Justin Cole from Benchmark states five reasons as his "proof" that the car is a "convertible" started at the factory by the Tucker Corporation.
Justin goes out of his way to "verify" that the convertible he has is the top secret project started by Preston Tucker himself and offers these
statements as proof that he is correct.

1. Justin mentions that there was a discussion in the June 1994 Tucker Topics about # 57 being a convertible. Well it was hardly a discussion and the
source of the June 1994 "convertible" story appears to be Allan Reinert. As has been shown here, this certainly doesn't validate the story.

2. Justin says the car is stamped in 3 places with the number 57 and it is, but the pictures all show a different stamping. The first the "7" is somewhat
bigger than the "5", the second the "7" is turned and not in line with the "5" and in the one on the hood the "7" appears to be double stamped. (see
above picture in this thread) or a 57 stamped over a 51. The stampings on this car appear to be suspect.

3. Cole mentions the passage from the Indomatable Tin Goose as being proof of the convertible story. It really disproves it. The pictures from
Life Magazine show #57 as the big window car and Alex Tremulis stated the same thing. Tremulis also stated they never started a convertible.

4. The letter from the former Tucker Corporation accountant. The account said he wanted to see the car when it was done. How does that prove it was
a secret "prototype"? The guy heard about the project Reinhart was working on and wants to see it when it's done. So do I, but how does that make it
a "prototype" that was built at the plant by the Tucker Corporation?

5. He says the car has the correct transmission. From what I've read I'm not sure anyone can claim there is a the correct transmission for a Tucker as
several were used and changed out and up until the plant closed the transmission seemed to be an issue that they were still working the bugs out of.
Cole may have a transmission that could have been used in a Tucker but stating it has the correct transmission as proof it is a factory built Tucker
is misleading.

As I've said before, their workmanship appears to be excellent and the car will look great when it is done, but there certainly is no proof that the car is
a factory "prototype" or that it is anything more than a bunch of parts collected over the years that were cobbled into a "convertible". Out of the five
reasons stated as his "proof" that the car is a "convertible" started at the factory by the Tucker Corporation, none of them appear to verify his story.

here is how it go. the big window car is still out there and this is jut to make you think it is long gone! This is 1027 and I will show you like I have done before with photos that prove the panels are the same with same damage in the same place and same paint color. Now look at this list and you will see something here. Also many parts are still missing from the cars this owner(s) had and you can put one super nice complete body together. Which body did they want to put together is not known but I believe it is 1057 big window car.

Alan sold:
-1055 body to Esch with frame 1042 as 1018 with a door and back trunk from 1042 along with a front hood from 1027. Alan later got the back half of the 1055 body for his convertible.

-1052 was sold as a test frame which had the roof cut off at the factory for testing to make a convertible as Alan said and he even included blueprints to make it into a convertible along with this frame and parts lot. There were front fenders and back fenders from 1018, unknown late model hood and trunk, parts from the back bumper of 1042 along with front bumper from 1018. Front right side door and a back door was about all from 1027 in this parts lot.

-1051/54 was put together but later when sold the front end was missing or walked away. This body also came with factory instaled back glass on the back but we all know it is imposible so it must have came from somewhere else or part of this body is from something else. Maybe another part of 1042. Remember 1042 was also red like 1051/54.

-list is too long to go on and on forever but can give you an idea of how cars are sold by Alan to be something they are not and they all hide parts of cars like 1042. He like to sell part lots to make a convertible also as you can see in this small list.

(1027 from "See A Tucker" is not 1027 and 1018 is not 1018)

Tucker,

So if I understand what your saying is 1042 is not missing but rather has been cut up to make several other parts lots?
